History of AM Radio

Originally 833 meters was THE freq......then in later years the FRC started moving stations to other wavelengths (before the even channels came about)....then 550-1500 was the earliest channelized attempt iirc....then 1510-1600 was added for Hifi though most stations were already doing up to 20kHz bandwidth anyway.. the broad rcvrs were sure hearing it...then 540 was added I think by NARBA and everything remained until the Ex band came up in the 90s....and it still sits underutilized.
