history of the 103.1 the buzz

Hey Axman:

The buzz before it was alternative was A Heavy Metal Format on Satellite called "Z-ROCK". (11-12-94 to July 3, 1995). It was based out of Dallas. Before that it was Country WOKC from 1987 to 1994. Then WLMC Country from 1965 to 1987.

Hope this helps!!

T.J.

In its Country incarnations, did 103.1 focus on Martin and/or St. Lucie Counties, or did it focus on West Palm Beach? I can't seem to remember.....

To ScottBurns:

103.1 focused on Okechobbe County only. It moved its licence (when it got bought) to Indiantown in 1994 then it became a Palm Beach Co station.

For 22 years, it was the Mighty WLMC. I was one of the engineers that set up the feed for Z-Rock out of Dallas in 94 and the country listeners went wild. The numbers were quite good. I think the numbers here, were some of the highest for the Z-Rock format, nationwide.
