A web page for late radio evangelist Lester Roloff describes him buying KWBU, then a defunct Waco radio station and moving it to Corpus Christi in the 1950s to becom KCTA.

Nighttime operation for KCTA has been talked about for decades. It comes down to money: It costs too much and the audience for their format just isn't there at night.
 
Lester Roloff, wow there is a blast from the past. I was lucky enough to meet him as a child. He came to St. Louis right before he died in that plane crash. He was a wonderful man
