Hit Parade Radio-a view from L.A.

The much-delayed debut of Hit Parade Radio with Larry Lujack on terrestrial radio stations around the country now looks like it's been pushed back to sometime this summer. In the meanwhile (as Ozzie says), it's available on the Internet.

Here's the link to a story about it that was published on the west coast recently.

It's already on 1570 WFRL in Freeport and on 1170 WFDL in Waupun, WI (both stations stream online by the way)

Ron Foster (formerly afternoons on ABC/Citadel Oldies Radio) is doing evenings. Forgot the name of the guy who's on middays.

The legendary Wink Martindale is doing the midday shift. He started in radio but is mostly remembered for hosting numerous game shows - remember Gambit? Tic Tac Dough? Those are two of 'em he did.

BTW, WDFL's audio is terrible(I'm within range of the OTA signal) - it sounds like they're running the right side of the stereo feed instead of the left. On the other hand, WFRL has it together and is running the total package very well....way to go Scott Thompson!

Hi all ...

I've read your posts on occasion and it appears you have a keen interest in Hit Parade Radio. I do a lot of searching on Earthworks Entertainment and, specifically, Hit Parade Radio as I've been holding Earthworks Entertainment stock since 2004. I won't be here a lot, but when I find something that may be of interest, I will share it with you. That said ...

WTZQ AM 1600 will begin broadcasting HPR on May 1st. This is the fourth station that I know of to carry HPR for at least a part of their broadcast day. The link to WTZQ is http://www.wtzq.com/ and the message about HPR is at the bottom of the page.

Let's see some growth! :)

Add La Porte, Indiana's WLOI, 1540-AM, to HPR affilates. I just heard it for the first time this afternoon. I was able to listen to Larry Lujack for a few minutes on my way home from work.

It's all voice tracked.....every last second.

BTW, has anyone noticed that Wink Martindale hasn't been on middays for awhile?
I'll have to research, but if anyone knows more let me know. Vic Thomas is handling middays as of this moment.
