Hit The Road, Jack, And Make Way For KXNT On FM!

Well the time the flip happens doesnt really matter now. KDOX beat KXNT to being the 1st on the FM dial. So it's kind of redundant news. What about KDWN? Are they gonna be joining KDOX & KXNT? Hmmmmmm. I just hope KXNT doesnt run any sweepers saying they are the first. That would ruin all their credibility. Since little ol KDOX beat them out.

KDOX is going to be as much of a player on FM as they are on AM...

Jack flipping to KXNT-FM is going to HURT KDOX ALOT MORE than KDOX will hurt KXNT-FM.

Boy, this 'donoflv' seems to REALLY be invested in this whole "KDOX beat KXNT" thing. You can't seriously be comparing a 99-watt translator, not previously known to the Vegas market, to a 100,000-watt powerhouse on a frequency thats been on the radar since the 90's!!

Is it a good step up for KDOX? Absolutely. Is it a move that in any way threatens KXNT? Absolutely not. Case Closed.

With the way KXNT keeps managing their station they'll put themselves out of business. You got Rush and that's about it. Ohhh and coast to coast. Thank god you brought back the morning news block. I thought KDWN tried that and it failed? But once again another station has to put their hand on the hot plate!

Does anybody outside of radio even care who was the first on the dial by two weeks? I can just hear the listeners now...

"... I really like Rush and Sean, but I'd rather listen to 2nd-tier talkers on KDOX because they were first on the FM dial you know..."

I'd think so seeing as how their HD-3 is now KXNT,WCBS in New York kept Jack on the HD-2 after they blew it up a few years ago, probably using the Dial Global Feed

Just heard the TOH ID as KXNT-FM still playing music though.

According to their Twitter account, it seems they flip to KXNT at 5am. The final hour as Jack will be at 4.

Any chance Jack will live on over on the HD-2 or HD-3?

My guess is that, since they are no longer referring to "Jack-FM" on 100.5 FM effective this weekend, they probably won't put "Jack" on one of the HD channels of 100.5. A similar music mix, perhaps, but not branded as "Jack." Remember, the name is trademarked by Sparknet out of Canada, and CBS actually has to pay them to continue using the name. When CBS-FM was resurrected a few years ago, "101.1 Jack-FM" was moved to the HD2 channel. Then one day, "Jack" spontaneously combusted and morphed into "Tony" - or, shall I say, "ToNY." That's because, from what I read, CBS no longer wanted to pay for the use of the "Jack" name, and chose to go their own way with "ToNY."

It's the first day of the simulcast - and so far, all airstaff except weather babe Karen Smith got the memo that KXNT is on FM now. In every weather report, she refers only to 840 and not 100.5.

CBS Radio Las Vegas must be lazy or something, jackbaby.com still exists, still calling themselves 100.5 Jack FM. Plus, KXNT's website still says "AM 840 KXNT", with no mention of the simulcast.

First day must not be going well... but what do you expect? It's Monday!

Plus, why throughout the weekend were they referring themselves as a sports radio station?

On the weekend KXNT will air sports, both PBP and Sporting News Radio. I wonder if this is why Lotus is now simulcasting ESPN 1100 on the 98.9 translator?

Checking the HD feeds of KXNT 100.5, Jack is completely gone. HD-1 is KXNT; HD-2 is Kidz Radio, the simulcast of AM-1140.
