This is huge! Another CHR/Pop station for Toronto!
Kiss was a very successful CHR in Toronto in the late 90s, though I think part of what did them in was the fact that they relied too much on teen pop. Now-defunct Energy Radio, which was on 95.3, as well as several other frequencies throughout Ontario (formerly Dance station Energy 108) was one of their rivals, along with Z-103.5. Z is the only that survived despite the fact that some of Kiss 92.5's DJs used to knock them for playing too much Dance.
Another station the new Kiss 92.5 will have to worry about is 99.9 Virgin Radio, and to a lesser degree 104.5 Chum FM and Flow 93.5.
