Hitman's gone...Hilton's on!

Just wanted to let you know that my switch on the dial from 101.1 to 94.5 isn't the only thing new.

Finally opted to shed the "Hitman" from the name and I will be debuting on B94.5 this weekend as Steve Hilton.

No big news..except for the fact you will have to find something else to pick on me for...as the "80's" radio-ism nickname is now gone

I'd also like to welcome my buddy Mak McKeehan to the B94.5 crew. You may know him. At one time, he was a moderator for this board. Anyone heard him yet? I think he sounds great.

I'm curious about something. Did you give bad "consultation" to G101 while you were in the process of gaining employment with their competition? ???

If you are asking about their recent format tweaks. I have stated on this board before that I really have not had much formatic input at the station for quite some time. During most of my time there, the programming decisions were made by either ownership or the program director and whatever things I did tend to contribute to always seemed to be undone relatively soon thereafter due to differences in opinions by someone.

One of my chief reasons for leaving was that I felt the station would never evolve into what I had originally envisioned due to the fact that ownership and programming had very different goals in mind for the station than I did. So I did the decent thing. I bowed out and got out of the way so that they could go the way they wanted to without my interferrence.

We are all still very good friends and in fact, we speak frequently even if just through email, but we have very different opinions of what the overall sound should have been. There was no misdirection by me. By the time I had made the decision to depart, my input was next to nothing. I also want to clarify I have no programming input or responsibilities at B94.5 either. I am there strictly for the on-air experience alone.
