Hits That Never Get Played on Radio Any More

Sonny James, Black Pearl. Find that big NYC hit record on the radio anywhere since the 60s.

For that matter, what about the same-era's Lay Down (Candles In the Rain) by Melanie or
The Edwin Hawkins Singers-Oh Happy Day?

Melanie? You could pick any Melanie tune. I can't remember the last time I heard her on Buffalo radio.

I think that goes for anybody's radio. Sad...

As for 12"ers from the 80's...I miss, and wish to add to the list:

Foreigner - "That Was Yesterday"
Bruce Springsteen - "Dancing In The Dark"
Heart - "What About Love"

And one that would fit on the stiffs thread but Capitol put out a 12" extended mix on this, and it was their best song since "Help Is On The Way":

Little River Band (known as "LRB" on this one) - "Playing To Win"

That's Sonny Charles, right?  Sonny James was a late 50s/early 60s country star, IIRC.

Ooops, I see BJC beat me to it! Too late!

Sonny James' biggest hit was "Young Love"...1958 IIRC. Big country/pop star who went country entirely as time went on...

Has anyone mentioned this one:

Little Anthony & the Imperials - Hurt So Bad
