Hitz 94 Format Change Client Letter

This was sent to Hitz clients...

Dear HITZ 94.1 Clients,

In response to the ever changing broadcast climate in the Triad, including demographic shifts and listener demand, HITZ 94.1 is preparing to change formats. This change will enable HITZ 94.1 to better partner with you, our clients, to help grow your business by reaching a larger audience with more spending power.

This change will take place Wednesday, November 15th at noon. While we cannot divulge the specifics of the format at this time, we are certain you will find it to be a positive change.

Like they say on the radio, "Stay tuned!".

kinda silly to put that out 48 hours ahead of time on a flip. Surly the other station thinking of flipping will go ahead and beat them to the punch.

Thats what happens when you run a radio staion from the golf course.

I'd go ALL Christmas 'til December 31st, then I'd launch whatever
format. All New for 2007!!!!

Launch now and it gets lost in the Holiday shuffle. I don't care what format it is.

Maybe it's ALL a stunt. Who knows if that so-called "client e-mail" even went to any clients?

I can assure you that the email was sent to clients ... since I received the exact same thing yesterday from my rep, timestamped at 12:10 pm.

I only listened for about 15 minutes this morning, but 94.1 sounded pretty normal (it's usual self) today!

Hot AC WTHZ-FM (Hits 94.1)/Greensboro flips to Classic Hits as "Majic 94.1" playing the Greatest Songs of the '60s and '70s under PD Bob Campbell and Format Coordinator Pat Garrett.

I think this is awful. I hate to lose my radio station but 60's and 70's is a stretch from 80's and 90's and today. I felt like I was connected to this generation and still had the disco age I grew up with. I am looking for new radio if this happens - anyone recommend one???

Why did they ask for VIP members if they could not ask us about the change or let us know about the change? The radio music from this channel since yesterday has about made me sick.

If you enjoyed Hitz 94's format, give a listen to 99.1, WSLQ out of Roanoke. Seems like a similar format, and it's got a KILLER 200,000 watt signal.

Later....

I like all the giveaways to area concerts - like Guns and Roses - not driving all the way to Roanoke if I should win something.

Anyone has any other ideas???
