Hello all! ::) I really enjoy the site and all the intense conversations everyone has about the radio! I heard something interesting the other day...

No Hip Hop for cows...Kiss it g'bye...Maybe the milk maid can confirm that cows like Oldies better?

I figure, though I know squat about raising cows, a little 'bass in your face' hip hop would help the cows, 'hop to it' . Ms. Milk Maid Mary is the guru on this one.

Woo Hoo Fellaz! I'm glad you thought of this little ol' gal!! ;) I must say that while My big girlfriend at cc and I love to bust it on the dance floor to some good jamz!! The barn up here on the farm in Sharon is a whole different type of corral. While Dr. P you might think that great VT milk production is based on a good-n-healthy food source, music can play right into it! What we have here are your a-typical Holstein-Friersian, there's also Ayrshire, Brown Swiss, Guernsey, and Jersey out there and yes your Mary knows her Milk producers! HA! Now about that music...'Oldies' is a little weak, OK, very weak...and while I could tell you a sad story about an terrible accident that happened to Bobby while listening to oldies, :'( I think I'll save that for another time! You mention the 'Hip hop' Jo Jo, a little too rough for the real 'farm' cows, (sorry PBT we've seen who you've been dating...(wink-wink!)) :p ...and yes, while 'smooth jazz' might work, 'country' is where it's at!!! Unless it has some b******* animal sounds slapped all over it! For example, the boyz and I used to play country out of ol' west leb. then one day this horrible howl came of the radio, the cows freaked out! So did the boyz and I!...and Let me tell you we don't need the roof comin' off the barn...Neither does Norma Jean these dayz! Hell she's got enough to do!

Ms. Mary ;)

Well well. I guess the cows in Addison will have to learn to like Oldies. As for me I will miss my Justin and Snoop (hmmmmmm). ;) What will I do? Although I do like 'em a little older. How does it go A little smoke on the chimney means there's a fire down below? I could get used to that! I will miss that honey Jack Spade. Can he spin Do Wop? I hope so :p

Are you saying something the cows are going to hear something that may "Moo-ve" them ??

Well, the cows will be lovin' all of the music now. Especially if they stay "true" to their "oldies".

Does anyone know why this topic was moved off the NNE board and then moved back? Just wonderin'.

Yes, I enquired.. Under a different spelling the term "Moo Moos" has a totally different meaning that does not fall under the guidelines of political correctness. Perhaps the initial cues of this post did not register with those in administration that keep an eye on the content.

I think format will do quite well, if indeed that's the direction that station is headed. Mr. D, from what I understand the station called "Kool 105" does not throw a good signal south of Chittenden County, since it is a 25,000 watter. Corey Hart "Sunglasses at Night" on Kool ? Are you going after the MP103 crowd, with a target to slightly older demos ?? I call that song 100% pure "80's Cheese", and a long way from being cool..

First of all, it took me 5 posts to figure out that you were all talking about Kiss. Way to be clear.

That said, is anybody really surprised? They had their chance to take a piece out of the X, and they squandered it. They could have broadcast on 96.7, but CC wasted that with a simulcast. They could have picked up Elvis Duran and the Morning Zoo in syndication, and beaten the X to the phone taps (I'm going to use the term coined by the people who actually create them), but they decided to waffle on creating a morning show until it was too late.

For a town that's lacking in radio that targets people under 30, Kiss could have been a much better station than it was.

Call a spade a spade, Port Henry is a good hop from Burlington. CC could not put "the Zone" on 92.1 carrying Imus, since 92.1 does get into Rutland and the upper towns of Rutland County quite well. That is why Kiss stayed off of 96.7 I would think.. Plus 96.7 has a much better signal into Burlington than 92.1, isn't 96.7 on the same tower with Champ ?? Again, just speculating...

The "Oldies" format, I think, when done right is very desirable going well beyond truckers and cows. The word "Oldies" should not be considered taboo since a lot of Oldies stations continue to thrive like "Oldies 103.3" in Boston, and "Oldies 100.9 "in Portland for example. Check out WABC's "Musicradio 77" Saturday Night Oldies show.. That's a real treat on the ears !

Jo Jo...

Didn't you mean to say CHECK OUT ABC'S MOO-SIC RADIO ON SATURDAY NIGHT? :p

Good one Argy !! I guess you can get your last good night 'kiss' on 92.1 tonight.. Tommorow 92.1 should be 'moo-vin' in a good direction..
