Here's a two part question for discussion:So now we have another mixshow in Chicago. The question will be, what will be its longevity and if it is successful, is there room for a DANCE/CHR going up against a Kiss and a very heritage B96? What would be the consequences for the stations that could potentially be affected, such as B96, KISS-FM, and surprisingly, The Mix and possibly Q101.Everyone keeps forgetting that 12+ Kiss even made a dent against WTMX, who is still billing quite nicely. Can Kiss impact the Mix and the Q101 audience in-demo, as well? If so, it could be, yet another saving grace from the clutches of CCU corporate from pulling the plug.Your thoughts? Let's discuss!

B 96and Kiss have had a lock on that demo and been in a war for a while now. Any 3rd party entering into the MIX so to speak will really have to foucs their efforts and make sure their product stands out from the others, Give the people a reason to come to the party - The music is the music what will make the difference is style, presentation, personality and the ability to connect emotinaly to the listener. That's how to win I may be a bit biased but I have always thought B96 did a better job in these areas - maybe they have lost a little luster but a lil polish and a buff job they are in the hunt. KIss is a major player and these two won't easily allow a 3rd party to crash it.

Boaz must be Todd's shadow. They're both in the dumps. Kiss is a mess and trying to clean up and B96 is like a junkie in denial.A dance station in this market on a Nine signal is a 3.0 share easy with a min of 10 million in billing. On a real stick it's a 3 share plus with a minimum of 20 if programmed commercially with enough feature shows and utilizes tech properly. The only way to win now with dance is with females and those females are at Lite, Mix and Love. You could jar them lose but it would have to be B96 of the early to mid nineties with today's hits leaning more female and dance as opposed to drive-by. Hip Hop is no longer something to count on as a format. It's done and has been for over a year. Todd fell asleep over there and Kiss missing everything stayed flat enough to have B96 fall below them. What a sad circumstance for both of them. Brutal! As far as a "mix" show on Nine. Let's not forget it's brokered. You could go on there and play ukele music from Don Ho as long as you pay rent. At least there's some quality mixers there but no brains on how to run a radio station from the office/business side to programming. I think a dance station is closer than most people think. Heck, once a station starts brokering their time it's just a matter of time before the station quietly hires someone to put them up for sale.

Kiss is billing roughly 11 million a year. B96 made approximately 23 million a year. How can Energy bill 11 million on the NINE frequency? I am not doubting you. Just want to silence the naysayers MLII.
