hmmm.. surprised. WPRO-AM was off the air

For a while this morning, I was listening on the way into work and it went off like a switch for me at ironically enough, 6:30 AM. Switch over and the FM was fine. Not sure when exactly it came back, but I tuned in around 9:30 and they were back on AM.

But wow, this board is losing its touch, not a single post about it yet!

6:30AM? No one mentioned it here because those famous six people in East Greenwich don't post here.
That and of course Skynet is in hiding.

Re: hmmm.. surprised. COAST was off the air

Coast FM was off the air for a while today, possibly a few hours, all static in both the house and the car. Probably no staff there to even notice as Tad has Saturdays off blahahahahhahahhahahahhahahhahaha.

Listeners' weekends were ruined having to go more than 6 hours without hearing I've Got The Power by Snap.

Coast (WSNE) had a major antenna failure due to IKE. A single bay ERI standby antenna was installed the sunday afterwards, but work will need to be done on the tower to remove the other half of the old antenna, and the mast will need to be worked on. During that work , the station could be off the air or reduced power for tower worker safety for periods of time. It happens.

It is surprising that Hanna brought down that antenna, since there really didn't seem to be that much wind with that storm, at least where I am on the south shore. Maybe the wind was stronger above 500 feet.
