I am a long time reader of this board and I have never posted anything but I thought that this would merit some attention. I have heard through the grapevine that a certain someone on this board that likes to talk about the "Evil Empire", and other stations is leaving one to join one of the one's that he has talked down upon.

It appears that the "Hitman" is leaving his consulting job at G101, I might add he did a fine job of consulting them right into the toilet, and heading to B94.5. Wasn't it this same individual that said in July or August that B94.5 was in a sense NO GOOD...Why would he now be leaving his plush consulting job and heading to one of the stations he has bad mouthed.

As for B94.5 shame on you for hiring someone that talked so much crap about you and now when he sees no furture with the other station he jumps ship.

I don't know the reason he is leaving and I don't even know if this rumor is true, I would love to hear from somebody at G101 or even the "Hitman" himself. Or if anyone else knows anything would love to hear from you too. What are your thoughts on this?
 
Have to agree with ya Spack. I've heard nothing. But, does it really matter? Many posts here seem to relate to a minority of certain people which I view as self serving. Seems insignificant to the big picture.
 
I was told by a friend that G101 is changing formats to Hot AC. Not hard to believe seeing how many times they have flopped formats in the past.

Could this be why the Hitman is jumping ship?

Could this be why the Hitman hasn't responded to this thread?

Could this be due to 3WZ'z current format trend?

Well obviously your friend was Steve! G101 has made an adjustment to the daytime music. It is more woman friendly. The station is still CHR/Top 40 just no urban during the day to make it a little easier to listen to for the working woman. The official word that went through the station said there would be a more Hot AC sound during the day but that we were not changing format, just the day would be formatted diffrently from the weekends and nighttime. Steve has put in his resignation and will be leaving us. I am not at liberty to say where he is going or if he will be remaining in radio. If he wishes to post that information then so be it, I will respect his privacy. I will say that Steve has been very vocal about the daytime change and says he does not see the station moving in the direction that he envisoned. We all wish Steve luck on his future choices in radio or not.
 
The only direction that the station has been moving is downward. It's not just the formatical changes but the horrible signal that seems to go virtually unchecked as well.
 
I'm not gonna badmouth anybody, but I agree the only way we have been moving is down. I am taking a more hands on approach to the programming and going with my gut and not what the consultants are saying as I did when we first flipped format and the numbers were going up.

As for the signal...have you listened in the past few weeks?
 
The station sounds the same as it never was ~ crappy. There is something seriously wrong with the signal which most likely needs to be addressed by a more qualified professional engineer.
 
Well I guess if we improved everything people like yourself would have nothing to complain about then would they?
 
Not complaining just stating my opinion. I guess one could be sensitive when your sitting near the bottom with a 50-thousand watt station relying on gut instincts to correct mistake after mistake. Frankly, this board is a good opportunity to use good public relations given the fact that anyone could be a potential listener.
 
The signal is under construction...we are working on it and if you were listening this afternoon there was a lot of garble going on, that has been fixed, but just for craps and giggles what station do you think sounds the best?

What station sounds best? If you mean signal ~ it would be close between 94.5 and 95.3
 
Doesn't matter. One is screwed up. The other ain't. That simple.
 
Do you have anything nice to say, or were your not loved enough as a child? Cause seriously your attitude is bring the whole place down

Sorry to say, no I have never met Steve "The HITMAN" Hilton. I had never even heard his name before until I discovered this fine forum.

If I ever do, I'll be sure to ask him if the B94 rumors are true.

Again, it is odd that Steve hasn't commented on this yet... maybe he was asked not to... HMMMMM

I don't think that it matters if he responds or not. Too many posts are made that highlight a few individuals that have little or no significance in the market.
 
I am gonna stop now, I made the clairfication that Steve was leaving and I made the clairfication that G101 was NOT changing formats and once again it became a lets pick apart what is wrong with the station and the staff discussion. So you guys have fun discussing all that you think is true. Those of us on the recieving end will continue to sit back and laugh at how wrong your posts are, because you have no clue...unless you work in the office maybe you should keep your mouth closed cause you look like an idiot to the people who actually know what is going on.
 
It's too bad that a discussion about signals is downgraded to "I give up". The station and the responses that I've read are in sync. Downward spiral, and even though the end is in sight, everyone else is wrong.
