KTRH Website: General news

Houston Chronicle dot com: General news

None of the TV station websites are mentioning a breaking story at 6161 Savoy in Houston.

The Houston Police Bomb Squad is on the scene with their robot. A mysterious truck was parked in front of the Wells Fargo Tower earlier this morning. Security reported a suspicious truck in front of the ATM area.

The 12 story structure contains:

Wells Fargo Bank
Attorney General's Office
US Marshalls
Asia Broadcasting on the 11th floor
Salem Radio Houston on the 12th floor. (KKHT, KNTH, KTEK)

Our crew had to be evacuated. Through the modern miracle of internet technology, I am able to operate the stations from home.

The rest is pending.

Weekends there are no news reporters in the any of the studios

Brian, that is simply not true. Channel 13 did show up with a camera crew. The HPD gave an all clear after a thorough investigation which began around 9AM. HPD has to go through a series of events to make sure that the building is secure.

That has been done. With that said, my thanks go to Ron Samuels who is the executive weekend producer and his staff Valerie Harris, Michael Houghton, and Matt Menn for their support at the stations making sure everything was secure before exiting.

They still do not have reporters in the studio to report the news they only have a camera man to shoot video then they will show it later

What would you have done in the old days, Chuck? Technology is great, but I also hope yours is secure as well so that someone can't hack into your system.

In the old days, we would have been able to operate from the transmitter. I have a direct portal to the system which is very secure. However, nothing is hack-proof.
