Surprised nobody has posted about this yet. Magic 98.3 has been playing Christmas music during the evening hours this week, and will go full-time Christmas on Friday at 3 PM. I wonder if Magic 100.1 will ring the jingle bells at the same time.
Who cares what Magic does anymore. . Apparently not the local people in their listening area. Check the latest ratings. New York Station's still ahead of them. .

Hmmmm this sounds ALL TOO FAMILIAR to me... Didn't a "CBS-FM" do this within their night daypart with Ron Parker last year? Wow more Greater Media creativity hard at work (ahem... the lack thereof I guess I mean)! I guess if you can't BEAT them you JOIN them! It's a shame Magic is LAST on the bandwagon when it comes to *everything* Maybe the scrutinizing of PLJ and Fresh's spins isn't the best programming formula.
As for 100.1 they TOO will be ringing the Holiday Bells commencing Friday 11/19. That is even LESS of an issue as so little even tune in to that frequency anymore. Perhaps it's time to reflect back on their Ratings Booknearly a year ago. They killed WJRZ for bascially nothing and LESS of an audience and market showing. Atleast give credit to Press for making a change to Hit 106 when someone finally realized/agreed that it was underperforming. I wonder if GM is bold enough to make that call on JRZ especially with an out of market morning show that sounds nothing short of sloppy on air.
Greater Media always WAS and IS a FOLLOWER and not a LEADER.
The time I previously reported was based on the "Countdown 2 Christmas Music" on their website, but it looks like they've been consistently Christmas since last night at 7 PM.
A real shame. Pre-consolidation, GM was the company almost everyone wanted to work for. Several people I know were very lucky to have worked for the company in Philly and NBNJ back in the 70's and 80's. They were very happy and had great salaries, bennies, etc. All that's changed. So friggin' sad...
