HO!..HO!...HO!

Yeah, you are really new to this if you think Rose targets men. 24-44 females, with an emphasis on 35-44 would be my guess.

Could any of you experts explain why 101.3 is STILL playing Christmas music?...

Years ago, Magic 94.9 (an AC station that lasted one year) went all Christmas at Thanksgiving and continued it to New Year's Day. The next day, they flipped to country - BOB 94.9.

Maybe it's because The Rose started later. Last year they did the same thing....but started earlier. Perhaps they're trying to get that extra ratings push. When does or when did the fall book end? I was never a big fan of the all Christmas programming until I started to see the results. That turned me around.....but I think there should be a return to regular programming on Dec. 26. There is such a thing as overkill. My hat goes off to The Rose airstaff. I tuned in on Monday and they were still sounding like they were lovin' those holiday tunes....even though they might have been about ready to hurl. That's being a true pro. I don't think I could have done it without the sarcasm starting to creep in.

Because the PPM's are out in the majors that did this. one example WBEB in philly went 7.9 to a 12.4 that's why. for all you out of work frustrated PD's that overthink this crap.
BTW the benefactors of this weather will be the news talks/ for school, traffic, and weather, and of course WNNK, because they still do all of the above better than anyone in the market. And for all you out of work hazbeens that declare radio dead only because you are no longer contributing to it, couldn't be more wrong. It's alive and well, and poised for pretty strong growth. People still listen because it's easy, it's relateable, and the audience feels a connection to it, and in case you haven't noticed, it's up more in the younger demos with kids that were born with an I-pod in their clenched little fists.

I believe the Fall book ended somewhere around December 9th. So, any ratings push by Christmas ends then.

In the PPM markets which Central PA will probably never be a part of, they take ratings for another three weeks. So if you do Christmas, you really do get a ratings bonanza.

As far as why the Rose is still playing Christmas music, good question?

If you had smart programming you could take advantage of the new year's eve party atmosphere being "local" "All Request we'll play anything"
New Years Eve On-Air Party!...Put lots of people on the air and have some real fun with it!

Happy New Year!

hey my friend i am glad you remember that station...just think of all the failed attempts of a/c stations maybe if the powers to be would have stayed with the program the likes of sunny 99 or mix 99.3 or magic 94.9 would still be with us. I thought they all had a decent sound.

I love what the Rose is doing - I say play another 2 weeks of Christmas music! :-*

You all know it is only a matter of time, maybe next year... ;D

I flipped on the radio shortly after midnight and they were doing a 80s-90s party show with Ronnie Ramone..supposedly was going to 2 am.

Any idea when this came on the air?

...and the unbelievable treat of the NO TALK! triple play... (because the jox suck)?
