Hockey Day in Canada 2006 venue announced

Tonight (10/29) on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada, it was announced that Stephenville, Newfoundland will host the next "Hockey Day in Canada" on January 7. Of course, it's the first Hockey Day since 2004 (due to the lockout).

Hopefully, the CBC would bring back all-night pick-up hockey for Hockey Day -- it was better than infomercials and test patterns at late-night.

Not a bad idea considering they showed the city of Nagano slowly transitioning to nightfall with some traditional Japanese music for up to two hours during the downtime of those Olympics. I'd stay up for it.

Won't happen, though.
