Hockey...the new football!

Sure glad TMISU ran the Yotes on FM Saturday night. That left the far more important ASU-ND football game on Ancient Modulation, 6~Twenty. And if the D'backs were in the playoffs, they'd probably be heard on coverage-impaired 8~Sixty!

Brilliant.

I'm surprised the games weren't reversed, but at least none of them were on 860. Per their website, all Coyotes games this week will be, though.

Brilliant.

The NL was off yesterday, so the D'backs wouldn't have played even if they were still in. But the Suns are about to start, and ASU hoops is about a month away. Plenty of time for conflicts to happen.

Just wondering...are there any other "news/talk" stations in other markets that have fumbled the whole "we're breaking news"/"no, we're all sports" as embarrassingly as 92.3 & 620 has? There are college stations - PD's under legal drinking age - who have done better jobs communicating to listeners just what the heck they're hearing on specified hours. Not Bonneville. They've really lowered the bar in this town.

Let's see... Syndicated babbling or money-making sports PxP at night? Hmmm...I think I'll take the latter.

The ASU game, such as it was, was being televised on channel 12 so I would expect a very small radio audience.

(Kinda off topic, but then who cares since we make up a good 20% of the traffic on this board now) Doc, are you and Nurse Jeff celebrating "Schlocktober" again this year at the Media Hut?

And back to the topic, "Go Yotes!"

It seems ASU and UA being on national TV is the kiss of death.

Especially for the head coach of USC!

Speaking of that smooch, just wait 'til the Yotes are relegated to Sports Parking Lot 8~Sixty. YIKES!

Their fan-base in east Mesa won't be able to hear the games. Of course, they couldn't hear them on 910 either since much of east Mesa north of US60 is inside their null.

Apparently this is a shared arrangement with CW61 and 3TV. Tuesday's game with the somewhat rejuvenated Noo Yawk Islanders is on 61 at 4PM. Y'all set yer watches, heah?

Sure glad TMISU ran the Yotes on FM Saturday night.

Correction: Hockey is not the new football. it is soccer with a weapon.

Actually, hockey is much more similar to basketball in tactics but it is much faster and no annoying squeek, squeek, squeek.

Soccer, like Foursquare, is a good kid's game.

Actually, soccer is futbol. But football is not soccer. Meanwhile, hockey can be heard on three stations: 6~Twenty, 8~Sixty & 92~Three. Can't say that about futbol or football.
