Is it just me, or is The Hog essentially the exact same format as The Loop in Chicago?

And why did they have to change the name of the station as well? There's no reason they couldn't've just done a marketing blitz announcing a 'Whole new Lazer,' or some other catchphrase to inform the market that their format has changed. Although really, all they've done is pretended it's 1992 since what they're playing now IS their 1992 format.

I don't see the point, either. "The New Lazer 102.9" could have worked.

I can see what Saga is thinking. The Brew dealt a major blow to WLZR-WKLH. Maybe Saga was waiting to see if the Brew was a one book wonder. Not only did the Brew do better than anyone expected, they are STILL showing growth into their third book. Saga needed to do something in response. "The new Lazer" isn't an extreme enough change to make any impact.

The Hog was obviously designed to attack the Brew and spoil their party. Saga is probably trying to sandwhich the Brew with the Hog on one side and WKLH on the other. Whether things will work out as intended remains to be seen, I'm sure the Brew won't just roll over and make it easy for Saga. In the meantime, this radio war should be fun. Only time will tell how it all plays out and what twists and turns it will take
along the way.
