Holiday book

WOW... :p I know it's the "Santa effect" but still!!! Kudos to Oldies 93.3!!

Looks like Sunny 95 didn't fare as well with only Christmas from Thanksgiving day - Christmas Day...

Jack FM keeps moving upwards... I know its been a few months but still rebuilding with their complete turn in P1s from Urban AC to Classic Hits..

Looks like WTDA is suffering from WJKR.. Might be time to format change (something other than Rock)... WNKO seems to taken a small hit too with Jack FM.

Wink 107.1... time for format change (even more so now that WHOK is back to Mainstream country)

Yep. Comparing to 2010, the Holiday Book 6+ AQH shares for 93.3 and 94.7 were:

2010
93.3 - 9.3
94.7 - 7.8

2011
93.3 - 11.4
94.7 - 5.4 (roughly the same as its usual share)

Thanks nu for the numbers from last year.. I am still in awe at how well Santa did this year for 93.3.. The trend this year with MOST AC/Classic Hit stations that have flipped in the past is that they didn't have as many impressive books this year with Christmas... WODC is for sure one of those exceptions.

I still look forward to seeing WJKR improve and see what WNKO, WTDA end up doing -- We seem to have an over saturation of Classic Hits in this market now...

Also will be curious if Wilks blows up 107.1 for something other than country -- It seems only best for that signal now that K 95.5 is back.

Looks like Hal might want to do another town hall meeting to see what he can do to get the Blitz's #s up. The last 2 rating periods have been flat. He might ask listeners what he could do for 103.9 as well. New rock on one and today's hit music on another sounds like a good winning combination.

A 103.9 town hall meeting would only draw about eight people. That's how many still care about it to any degree.

I don't know anyone who listens to Classic Hits. I agree that they should flip it to CHR. Would pull more than what they're getting now.

Problem is .. I don't think that there is a satellite type CHR format they could plug in... If I am not mistaken WTDA is a satellite format from Dial Global... and whatever ends up on WTDA will not be local programmed.. The only NABCO signal programmed locally is The Blitz.

While they do run mostly satellite, 103.9 is local on weekday afternoons.  Also Dial Global does have a CHR format and a dance format.

I would listen to a lot of Drive FX if it came to Columbus. My personal opinion is 103.9 should go with a format that is "Hits Now" minus the rock/hot ac music, with a little of the "Drive FX" music thrown in. A Top 40 station that is really dance friendly basically.

There's a new Energy station out of Parkersburg/Marietta that is CHR that I believe is being programmed by Dial Global. Although it's a special localized version that just sends music logs, but come on, they're putting all that local programming on The Blitz, they could do SOMETHING local on 1039 if they flipped to CHR.
