Holiday Cringe Songs!

With the impending holiday season, it's once again that time of the year when the "sounds of the season" makes us sick! Season's greetings, my flank! My #1 holiday cringe song annually is "Donde Esta Santa Claus?" by Augie Rios. Puh-leez! Que lastima! Lo Siento! I want to grind my teeth into a fine powder every time I hear it. Of course, I frantically reach for the button when it comes on, so I try to keep the agony to a minimum.

What others make people cringe at Xmastime?

"It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" -- Andy Williams

"Rocking Around the Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee. She HAS to be embarrassed by that one now! And to make matters worse, there are cover versions by two of my least favorite singers, Amy Grant and prissy LeAnn Rimes! ::)

But truth be told, there are so many lame Christmas songs out there that almost certainly, not all of them will make this list!

Jingle Bells - the Barking Dogs

Any version of "Santa Baby" except the original Eartha Kitt song.

"Do they know it's Christmas"....I don't think they care.

Eartha Kitt's version was the classiest version. Madonna's version was the crassest, trashiest version.

You beat me to the punch.

I guess I'll add John Lennon's "So this is Christmas"

not that I like war, but this song is such dreck [along with "Imagine" which I used to like]

I avoid hearing all XMAS songs on the radio, I've heard 'em alllllllll my life IOW they're all pretty much burned beyond recognition

Yeah, Lennon's driveling contribution, but it's "Happy XMas (War is Over)".

Not very happy ones for sure.

The Christmas Shoes by Newsong and Dear Mr. Jesus by Sharon Batts. Nothing says Christmas like dead mothers and child abuse.
