16.8 for B101's Christmas music. WOGL took a huge hit and BEN-FM dropped a whole point. None of this matters, of course. But it's what happened! I wonder if Audacy might consider having WOGL play two Christmas songs per hour next time around...kinda having their cake (101.1) and eating it too (98.1).

Wondering aloud, would it even matter if WOGL played a few? As in, did anyone actually up the time with the B because 98 wasn’t playing Gene Autry between Guns -n- Roses and Huey Lewis? Feels like maybe they had their cake by framing WOGL as the choice when you weren’t ready for jinglepalooza in those sweepers. At least, was it a net positive to have them occupy distinct positions? Eh, whatever.

The other pondering piece, how much is attributable to disrupted patterns, and what the PPMs picked up. All hypothetical and ultimately irrelevant in 6+ numbers when all is said and done.
 
I didn't hear any of those sweepers, so I didn't even know they were doing that. I just figured some folks who usually listen to WOGL during the day, but who headed to B101 just for the Christmas music, might prefer sticking with WOGL to enjoy their usual favorites plus occasional Christmas songs. I assume some contingency would prefer hearing Christmas songs that way, as opposed to burning up the same 200 titles over and over for 5 weeks. Just thinking "out loud."
 
If it were programmed for me, yeah. I like the some mixed in approach. But that ship mostly sailed, so I make my own playlists to mix it up when I’m not quite ready for Jingle Bell Rock 1,732 times.

The sweepers were (paraphrasing from not so great memory) to the effect of if you’re not ready for Christmas music, you can head over to Big 98 for the 70s/80s/90s, generally accompanied by snippets of songs that “coincidentally” 😉 appear in both stations’ libraries. All hail corporate synergy.

Last summer Audacy made changes at several CHRs, including WTDY. They cut the number of spins for heavies to 79 (from 100 or more) and limited the currents. They made similar changes to WBBM Chicago. The difference in Chicago is the number of currents is three times what it is at WTDY. As a result WBBM is still reporting as Top 40, and its getting 1.5 share, about the same as the classical station. Meanwhile, you can see the results of WTDY.

They have a rhythmic gold-heavy CHR in Miami that hasn’t really moved much since transitioning from traditional CHR, WPOW. TDY felt almost more like a flip than those two did.
 
They did a good job all things considered carving out the swim lanes for 96.5/98/101.

Fully understanding that’s hardly unheard of 😃 but credit where it’s due.

That's what I was trying to say when I hit the wrong key on my keyboard. What was happening with WTDY up til this recent tweak was kinda hard to watch. But all of a sudden, someone, somewhere said "You know, I'm gonna figure this out." So, credit is due to whomever (or whatever team) was responsible for finding such balance (and thus, financial harmony) between the co-owned AC, Hot AC, and Classic Hits stations. It can't have been an easy task.

And, we have a Hot AC that most likely isn't going anywhere any time soon, so once you get past where WSJO coverage is you can get TDY or just listen to TDY all the way.

Yes I like TDY, and have liked the Hot AC format.
