Holiday Weekend

How I miss the "Firecracker 500" "The million Dollar Weekend" "The Countdown From A-Z"
listening to radio now is about as exciting as listening to voicmails!

I guess I'll just settle for American top-40 countdown repeats on XM...It's been so long since I last heard them I get excited hearing them again.

for those without XM, KFRC 1550 still runs the AT40 ('70s version) reruns on Sunday mornings at 8. And there are a number of stations who stream the '80s version as well.

Casey Kasem on the 70s channel is great,, This Holiday weekend on the 70s channel was not my cup of tea,,, It was billed as their welcome to Summer Weekend,, so every song at the TOH was Donna Summer,, plus a couple mixed in every hour,, what an OVERPLAY.. How much Donna Summer can one enjoy? Even terrestrial radio would not play that much of one artist! They need people on Sirius/XM ,,, who know radio.. Kenny in Concord

Three subscriptions still going since 12/2005

That's an interesting complaint, since from my POV, stations that do "theme weekends" tend to not play *enough* of whatever the theme is. Shannon's True Oldies Channel does a theme every weekend and they usually play 2 songs per hour from the theme (songs with girl's names in the title, or whatever). I think 3 should be the absolute minimum.
