Holly Levis working for direct rivals WALK and KJOY!!

I've been baffled as to Holly Levis working for two stations that are in direct competition with another. She has a regular weekend gig on WALK, but for the last couple of months she's also been doing fill-in work for KJOY on the weekends, and today she actually subbed for Jodi Vale in the mid-day slot. I understand that part-timers might moonlight at different stations, like Party Marty working for both KJOY and B103 or Matt Raub in Connecticut working for both Star 99.9 and The Fox. But those are sister stations owned by the same parent company and not competing with one another. Heck, it's not like she's even working for WBAB or WBLI which are different formats and generally not in competition with WALK. But KJOY possesses the same format as WALK and are in direct competition with each other for the same audience. It would be like someone working for WLTW Lite FM and Fresh 102.7 at the same time, or working at WHUD and WFAS at the same time, or working at Star 99.9 and WEBE 108 at the same time. Sorry, but it makes no sense to me how Holly Levis was able to pull this off, with Patrick Shea and Bill Edwards signing off on her employment at competing stations.

That baffles me...I've tried pulling that stunt before with my current employer and he didn't go for it..but that's just the way he is. Obviously there's something going on behind-the-scenes that we don't know about. I'm thinking maybe the two stations, although in direct competition, are possibly friendly. I know of two other stations that are competing for the same audience and listeners but help each other. When one station needs a Marti, the other one helps them out. When the other needs an engineer, the other station sends their staff. Maybe this is the same thing.

Are you sure it was Holly? She might not be working for WALK any longer.

This past Saturday she was on KJOY in the morning. Then I caught her on Sunday doing the mid-day slot on WALK. So yes Holly Levis is still very much a fixture of WALK.

Maybe she's voice-tracking her WALK work, being it's a Clear Channel (for now) station and all...

I tell you, what is up with all these big names resurfacing on the Island? First, Holly Levis (ex-CD 101.9 and CBS-FM) and now former Fox 5 host Jodi Applegate will be doing the drivetime news on News 12 Long Island!

I dunno Joe, but I would think it's better than being unemployed. And Jodi's been all over the place. I believe she co-hosted Weekend Today on NBC, then moved on to a short-lived morning newscast (I think it was mornings) on FOX 25 in Boston, and then she ended up back in NYC and getting punk'd by certain radio personalities who shall remain nameless. (Inside Joke).
