Holy cow, I pulled in a Boston DTV from Middletown last night!

It was also coming in this morning as well, so I'm not sure if this is still from the storms last night but I'm finding out that either I have a poor line feeding one of the boxes or one of the boxes isn't as good as I thought it was. The box is a Zenith DTT900. I will have to try this again earlier in the day to see if it was the storm or not.

Before I post the DX, I will post what is normal and these listings are the RF channels, not the digital channels:
20 WTXX, 22 WGBY, 26 WHPX, 31 WTIC, 33 WFSB, 35 WVIT, 40 WGGB, 45 WEDH, 46 WUNI.

The following new channels were pulled in from Middletown, CT., just blocks from the Arrigoni Bridge, also listed by RF. Call included when channel resolved:

07 - could it be WHDH? is it the micropower station everyone claims it is? I dunno, I only got 30% last night and 0% now
09 - WEDN in the 70's! but now just 30%, used to get it back when it was on 45, never before on 9
11 - WWLP strong enough to come in last night, but not now, 0% signal
12 - about 30%
13 - Last night about 30% signal, this morning, 0%
17 - Last night about 40% signal, this morning, 30%
19 - about 30% signal
24 - there's something there, the box keeps trying to lock but at 27% it's not doing it
25 - Last night about 30% signal, this morning, 0% with an occasional bounce as high as 30%
29 - WUNI, I can't believe it! this is the farthest station I've ever gotten on DTV! it had a signal into the 50's, now it's about 30% and not resolving enough to come it.
30 - about 30% signal
39 - Oh how I wish I could get both new Haven stations, WTNH on 10 is at 0% right now? WCTX is at 30% but not resolving
42 - Wow! never got a signal here before, only 30% though, maybe there's a chance yet Ron?

Not bothering to check analog as I pulled the splitter and direct feed to the TV as was changing lines to find out why the other box wasn't getting any of these (however the signal strength was better on certain locals, so maybe it's a frequency thing).

42 could also be WSAH, but who's to say what any of them really are until the signal is strong enough to actually decode. I've seen websites about DTV DXing, if the conditions are good this stuff could have been from anywhere. Truth is, I do fell as though 12 & 13 were both Providence. I seem to have gotten signals from that direction and Boston, so maybe WHDH, but who knows.

What brand of box and attenna system do you have.over here in wallingford I cant get jack with my magnavox's.no gain in the front end what so ever.

it's up there, a Zenith DTT900, I got it at Circuit City in Meriden.

The antenna system is 5 different antennas, 1 amplified, 4 not, but run into a combiner first before running into an amp and then the two amplified feeds are run into a second combiner.

The first one is something that looks like the Silver Sensor, but I'm not sure that it is. I actually have it hanging from a rope that was hanging from the rafters of the house since before I moved in. That one is aimed towards Rattlesnake Mountain and is also hanging in a tilt. It's the one that seems to give WGGB that needed edge, but the odd thing is it still does even after the RF channel change. Other stations that it does well with are WTXX, WTIC, WFSB, WEDH & WUVN (RF channel order).

The second antenna is a UHF specific antenna that I have hanging from yet another rope, it's aimed straight at the ground and is only meant to assist in pulling in signals in combo with the others, I have never run it alone and well, let's try that now:
WTXX, (very weak and not resolving WHPX), WTIC, WFSB, WVIT, (Very weak, but does resolve WGGB), WEDH, WUVN.

The 3rd antenna is actually 2 wires, one runs up and down one of the rafters several times (basically used up the length of it) and the other one was my old shortwave wire that runs along the very peak of the inside of the roof again back and forth using up the length of it, so one is north/south diagonally, the other is east west horizontally, each wire is a connected to a terminal on a 300 ohm to 75 ohm transformer before going to the first combiner. It gets: WTXX, WHPX, WTIC, WFSB, WVIT, WGGB (some dropouts), WEDH, WUVN. This is the one that seems to be bringing in the real DX signals as I check the levels on RF ch 29, and it's at 30%, I also noticed it attempted to pick up RF channels 10, 11, 17, 22, 30, 39.

Antenna #4 is an amplified Jensen Rabbit ears with Telescoping VHF and a rotating UHF loop that also bends up and down, this is the antenna that can get WTNH, but it requires very exacting adjustment to do so, this is also the one that gives WGBY that extra nudge on the meter to come in. Alone right now it's getting: WWLP (a whole 60% signal!), WTXX, WHPX, WTIC, WFSB, WVIT, WEDH, WUVN.

Antenna #5 is actually a large roof antenna suspended inside the attic with wires and it's not a bad antenna, but in combination with the others actually cancels out WHPX, and so I don't use it currently. Run alone, it gets: WTXX, WTIC, WFSB, WVIT, WEDH, WUVN.

All of them bring in the 3 Hartford analog stations (WHCT, WRTN, & WRDM) each.

It's a delicate match and sometimes I do see that in combination some stations get boosted, while others canceled out. Also, messing with the cables as I just did might cause problems and I might have to reposition everything carefully to get the more distant signals to come in (WWLP, WGGB, WGBY) I've just rescanned and have the following: WTXX, WHPX, WTIC, WFSB, WVIT, WEDH, WUVN. Yep, in the process, I moved something somewhere and lost WGGB & I'm not sure with WGBY as it seems kinda weak tonight.

Looking at RF channels with signal but not quite decoding: 10, 17, 22, 29, 39, 40 - No WGGB or WGBY, looks like I have some tweaking to do.
