HONESTLY-WHO THINKS CLEAR CHANNEL IS THE DEVIL

And you must be a major shareholder in CCU, right? LOL.... You might want to:

A) Learn how to read and comprehend what other people are writing and saying.

B) Buy a sense of humor.

For the record, I've never worked for CCU and wouldn't on a dare. I know so many people who have worked for CCU and been screwed in some of the most bizarre and cruel ways as to wonder if the Mays family are all reincarnated SS officers....

If CCU was doing ANYTHING right, that would be different. Perhaps you would like to enlighten this august group here as to the positive things CCU has accomplished in Atlanta or anywhere else.... go ahead.... I'll wait... sort of like Adalai Stevenson waiting at the UN.....it'll be like waiting for hell to freeze over....

CLEAR CHANNEL

Not a CCU shareholder.

But, if you've never worked for them, you can't really say. Perhaps your buddies who say they've had bad experiences with CC have also had pretty much mediocre radio careers overall, which would not make them the best sources for accurate information.

Besides, anybody who starts tossing out comparisons to Hitler and Nazi Germany has very little substantive to contribute in the first place.

And apparently not an employee of CCU either, right? Anybody who has worked for that company can back up any and everything said regarding just how badly CCU is run...

Couple of other questions for you:

Are you an Aggie or just a paid apologist for the Mays family?

Read any of the trades? RBR? Radio Ink? RnR? Radio Daily News? RAIN? If you did then you'd know there is a preponderance of news stories about CCU and their "management."

How long you been in radio, anywhere? If you want to play "Can You Top This?" just keep in mind I'm originally from Atlanta and have been in radio now for 38 years so I'm willing to match up with you anytime... I can remember when CCU only owned 14 stations and that was the limit...

The radio professionals to whom I made reference in my previous posts are all top drawer broadcasters who certainly haven't had mediocre careers or who are sour grape specialists... many of them post here on IR...Their only "mistake was to be working at station that happened to be snapped up by CCU and then fell prey to what passes for "management" at CCU....

You appear to be dealing in opinions while I'm dealing in facts... so let me know when that shipment of credibility arrives in the mail at your house... like Adalai Stevenson... I'm still waiting...

'Cat, you know I have to start chattin' it up with you...you're comments on CC are certainly valid. I see a lot
of true professionals that love the corporate structure and system of merits far better than the days of single
ownership. Others, you're probably right again, the mediocre or anti-everything members fight and complain
everytime an air filter is changed.

You willing to generically express your in-house take on the real CC experience? I bet alot of other CC posters
on here can verify similars facts.

What I feel very conflicted on is Cumulus (aka Crumulus) because I see them seriously cut corners and quality
so much that they keep a lot of the best players out of the game or out of the buildings for short term thinking
and strategies of cost cutting and savings that costs them millions of potential.

I sense that CC and Cumulus are vastly different operations.

Oh I see... this board isn't necessarily for real broadcasters, but for wannabes...

Newsflash - Cumulus is no better than Clear Channel... Whether it's the Dickeys or the Mays family running things, there's the problem...

Actually both companies have served and continue to serve as templates to my company as to what not to do in terms of operations, public relations, employee relations, acquisition negotiations, etc. If we do the just the opposite of what these companies do, we'll be in good shape...

i based my comments on the formats of the stations only. every single clear channel station has a playlist of 200 or less songs. or in chr's case 15 songs over and over again. at least enetrcom has 300 songs ::)

Oh please. Do you really believe that or are you just a moron?

ok name a clear channel station with a bigger playlist than 200.

BDS monitors only 8 Atlanta stations. And only one of those is CC. I have checked the library count for the 8 and started a new thread called "every single clear channel station has a playlist of 200 or less"

Atl playlists

A check of Mediabase 24/7 on unique titles played:

CC LIBRARY STATIONS
WKLS 556
WUBL 465

COX LIBRARY STATIONS
WSB-FM 348
WSRV 325

ABC/CITADEL
WZGC 818
WYAY 348
WKHX 293 (note: with another 175 that had only 1 spin)
