Hope everyone made it through the storms okay

I was watching Spann's coverage online too and he was talking about how many radio stations simulcasted his coverage. He has stations all over the Birmingham market, even in Anniston and Tuscaloosa.
 
Now is as good a time as any to say a heartfelt "Thank you" to all the Alabama radio and TV stations that have been covering the storms and their aftermath.
 
Best wishes to everyone down in Alabama. I never was in a storm as big (or as powerful) as the ones that hit Alabama, but last summer my neighborhood in Bristol, Connecticut was on the fringe-area that got hit by an F-1 tornado. That was scary enough for me. Listening to the TV weather people saying the storm was heading into Bristol from the western borders and reports of rain coming down at 6 inches an hour! (I'm close to 2 borders - Wolcott and Terryville (Plymouth).
 
Happened to look at the national radar loop & noticed all the action in Alabama. Went to the WAPI stream & heard them running "CBS42" audio. They were decribing a live shot of the tornado as is started through Tuscaloosa. Then watched the tornado live on the 42 stream as it ripped up the city.
 
Just got my power back this morning, flipping around with my DX rig only thing I'm noticing missing is a couple translators now, 98.1, 99.5, 100.7, 98.3 WKSR is dead air and mono signal and for some reason WZYP is off air now, they had been on for the entire time. The Harvest tornado passed fairly close to their tower on Capshaw mountain, they could be attempting to restore power to that area right now and they shut the generator off or something. It appears I lost my powered signal amp on my antenna so any of the weaker things I can't pick up currently.
 
If you had your amp Bamawolf, I bet it would be DX city with WZYP and others off. For example in my area 90.5 CBCV Victoria, BC (CBC Radio One) is only heard when the 1st adjacent KEXP 90.3 Seattle and/or 90.7 KSER Everett, WA is off.

I was very lucky that in my area there wasn't much damage other than some trees and power lines knocked down. My power went off that Wednesday morning and stayed off until today (this Wednesday). So, I haven't seen any tv news coverage in the past week.

I don't have a fancy smart phone but I did have a battery powered radio to keep up with the news. I have to give Fun 92.7 (WAFN-FM) a big thank you for staying on the air and providing updates. The rest of the stations that I would normally pick up were either off-line or were fading in and out during this time.
