Hornets tv/radio rights

I wonder who will pick up the radio and TV rights for the Hornets games in Okla City this season. It will be interesting what transpires with the very shortened timeline before the NBA season starts.

I'm curious to see if my former co-worker Sean Kelley will be calling the games. I worked with him at KFRU 1400/KLIK 1240 in Columbia/Jefferson City a few years ago when he left to call sports at Tulane. He was just given the job calling the Hornets before Katrina hit. He apparently lost his home in the storm.

Hornets?

What the hell are the Hornets?

CBA? NBDL?

A place for Kelvin Sampson's son to play after OU :).

Last Hornets I heard of were the Charlotte ones.

The Charlotte Hornets moved to New Orleans a couple years back. The NBA's "New Orleans Hornets" is the team that will be playing this season with "home" games in Oklahoma City.

Yeah, knew about the New Orleans move but had not heard about the temporary relocation to OKC.

Renda --- What have they got to lose? They have a 50,000 watt-blow torch they've ruined...at least put the games on there.

Word around the campfire is..tickets are going to be hard to come by..

The way I heard it was that Sean Kelley was starting with the Hornets this season. I don't know who was calling the games before.

I am sure with them carrying OU mens & womens games that there would be a *few* conflicts, to say the least.

Who knows, I guess they could carry the games on KOMA-FM.

Television rights....down in the Crescent City, the rights were to Cox Sports (they broadcast all their games last season)...I would not be surprised if they would put it on Cox Sports there....I would like to see it up here in Wichita.

That's right.

Larry Brown probably will be the coach in a couple of years too :).
