If you're a triple 9 club member at KISW, you know this.

They sent an email today, all excited about the new line up, with Jolene 7p-12a, all set, nothing about Leykis. Then just now, they sent another.

ANOTHER T9 email that says "Where's Tome Leykis?" and it goes on to re-announce the entire line up with the change of Tom from 10p-2a. Retarded if you ask me. Any listener who gets this will see right through it. It's obvious they didn't plan, didn't realize or think about how people would respond to a lack of Tom and scrambled at the last minute.

I think Entercom did a bad, bad job with all of this and as someone stated below, completely lost track of thinking about their listeners in the process.

Of course, if somebody else wants him, WW1 will give him to them. Maybe not KCIS or KKNW, but any legitimate station that wants to clear Tom live will be allowed to do so.

Then this would seem to indicate an inevitable outcome:

Entercom scrambles to get Tom back on afternoon drive on SOME strong station before/or else someone else will...

We can hope and wish, but Entercom like so many second-rate operators has a music fetish. They've apparently wanted music back on 100.7 for some time now, and are making a half-assed attempt to salvage some of the talk era by merging it on 99.9. That's the logical place to put Tom. Personally, I don't see why all-talk BJ mornings, all-talk Tom afternoons would be so out of place with rock the rest of the day, but Entercom has spoken. Tom's on as a throwaway to save their image, or after a series of unfriendly conversations with Dennis Greene at Westwood.

CC never clears Leykis, but KFNK could benefit from a PMD ratings injection.

OK so we now have:

Press release with Jolene nights
Triple 9 Club email stating same
Entercom tells me at Noon they no longer carry Tom
Angry mobs flood the phones beyond description
Entercom suddenly tells everyone Tom IS on KISW nights (?!)
Website changes to show Jolene evenings & Tom on nights
Triple 9 Club email sent out stating same
BJ, Ricker, Mens Room on air saying "Tom is on!" every 30 seconds
Jolene actually came on at 6pm

Further evidence (as if we need any at this point)

The Mens Room just before signing off say on the air that the new lineup (INCLUDING Tom) was "announced at 11am press conference today!" (a little revisionist history?)

Also interesting to note how they have promos and prefabbed pieces touting BJ's move, touting Ricker's move, touting the Mens Room, but when it comes to Leykis, all they seem to have at the ready are the guys saying it into the mic over and over during their show...

Horrible planning indeed
