Hoser-Archway

Does anyone know what happened to Hoser and where he ended up? And what's the latest on the Archway brain trust? I heard they moved out of their location becuase they had only signed a 3 year lease after investing several hundred thousand dollars in leasehold improvements....very shrewed!

Hoser is somewhere in Michigan, i think ...now a better question....can you use the words Archway and brain trust in the same sentence?

Excellent point you make..the answer, of course, is no. How do you refer to anyone as a "brain trust" who negotiates a lease with a 3 year term knowing you will be investing $250K in lease hold improvements and not have included a negotiated extension to the primary lease, so that you know how much you will be spending in year 4 and beyond. The president of Archway then, now the chairman of the board is the genius who negotiated that lease and it never dawned on him that the landlord could screw him royally when it came time for renewal.

As for Hoser....He pissed off some Citadel-LR people. As it goes in the radio world, A middle management person at Citadel-LR took it upon himself to find Hoser another job, just to get him out of the market. "A lose canon is not needed in Little Rock", this person claimed. So Hoser (I understand is not happy) should be thinking the fine folks at Citadel for his new gig in Sag, MI.

Understand I'm not taking Hoser's side in this (having dealt with him a few times, I know what a joy he is to work with), but what is "A loose cannon is not needed in Little Rock" supposed to mean?

A few years back, I proposed some ideas to my then-PD to get our station more visibility. Fun stuff, nothing destructive or unfit for public consumption, just a bit obnoxious. Our GM's reply: "We don't want to upset the other stations." Is there some accepted balance of power in this market where every station's supposed to "know their place"? I know I sound like a jerk in the phrasing, but I'm genuinely curious.

I would reccomend a loose cannon in LR. Screw that pacifist crap. Radio is competition. Play ball. Sorry.

As for Hosebag, ******bag, Hoser, whatever his name is.. I worked with him at Archway. Dude is a serious trouble maker. Glad to see him @ Citadel. He'll suffer there, i hope. They wont take his (BLEEP), thats for sure.

Is this stemming back from the Ugly Ed/Hoser incedent? I think it is in the ULTIMATE Hillarity that he isn't here anymore. And I have that same question here as Killahertz. What is the deal with "all radio stations knowing their place" Do you want to sell or not? Originality sells. Straddeling (Sp*) the fence don't get you numbers.. If it was up to me. I would want to make as much noise as possible. Because it is what draws attention. Hopefully something good can happen soon in this market. It is starting to become "Lamesauce".
