Host & Co-Host in Cleveland Online Radio Poll

I recently did an online radio poll for host and co-host and these were the results

Cox and Zumock 105 34.54%
Rover and Dieter 61 20.07%
Rizzo and Hammer 51 16.78%
Maxwell and Stansbury 23 7.57%
Lanigan and Malone 43 14.14%
Toohey and Fee 21 6.91%

Cox and Zumock are the talk of the town as of late. Not bad for a new show that's starting to dominate afternoons. Cheers!

Alan Cox and Chad Zumock are a good duo, and in my opinion, the best in town. Surprised to see them ranked first, ahead of the other drive-time duos. WMMS must be smiling to see their their host/co-host pairs ranked first and second.

I personally find Maxwell and Stansbury better than Rover and Dieter, though Dieter is better than Charlie, Dumb, and Jeffrey. They can often drag the morning show down. After hearing Rover's show, I'm glad Charlie ended up not joining Cox on the afternoon show. Cox would've been way better, and Charlie would've had to keep up with the main host. It seems WMMS was hoping Charlie or Stansbury would be their next big guy, but neither would abandon their leaders (Rover and Maxwell respectively) to join a then-newcomer on a brand new show.

Surprised to see Rizzo and Hammer ranked so high given the listeners (and internet users) and their dislike for Hammer and the other sidekicks (Fedor and Sabrina), but also surprised to see Lanigan and Malone ranked so low. I would think with their longevity, they would rank higher.

As for Toohey and Fee, I'm not surprised their ranked low. It seems their show is forgettable and as entertaining as it used to be a few years back when Rebecca Wilde was still on the show. I think if Jen Toohey was paired with a different male host, and with different sidekicks, the show would be better.

I'm surpised that Toohey and Fee ranked lowest though... I think Jen Toohey is very relateable...I wonder how much different this would be if say Q104's Kory was paired with Jen in the morning, and Allan moved to another daypart...

I'm surprised that you're taking this poll seriously. Anyone can post a poll. And when done, it's not really about who's better, cause nobody listens to all of them, it's more about which duo has more listeners that voted in that poll.

Cox is good. Zumock is horrible.
Fee is lame. Toohey, though nice, is hacky.
See, without both partners being good, the duo can't be.

I must say that it was the dumbest thing Charlie could do. Being on Rover's show will keep him where he is and nobody will hire him afterwards. With Cox, he could have established a better name and definitely got paid TONS more. And you can't think that Chad is better than Charlie. Even Alan doesn't really like Chad, he was forced on the show and Cox will be glad when Zumock's contract ends..cause I'm sure he won't be renewed.

I'll give you points unpwn. I used to like Chad, but after he screamed at JWoww from Jersey Shore and going off on that show, I lost interest in that dude. I don't think a lot of people like Chad, especially Erika Lauren since Chad picks on her a lot. It sounds from what I heard on Cox's show before was that Charlie was scared and is really tight with Rover (I think Alan mentioned that in retrospect, him and Charlie might not have worked). I'm sure Charlie would've gotten better over time had he went to join Alan on his show. I also heard that Mark Nolan wanted to be Alan's co-host, but I think that would've messed up his Channel 3 schedule.

I do remember hearing on Alan's very first show that a caller was angry at Charlie for "throwing Dumb under the bus." I'm sure that might have gotten to him, and weeks later, he was hosting a show with Dumb online called "The Aftermath," which didn't last very long. It was basically Charlie's choice not to join Alan's show.

How about if Rebecca Wilde was not leaving to travel the world but wanted to leave Q104, maybe dump Chad and Erika, and pair Rebecca with Alan (Cox, not Fee). I'd listen to that show in a heartbeat.

re: Poll. What are the demo breakdowns for those surveyed? If most M18-34 then not surprised about Cox/Zumock.

Actually, "The Aftermath" was what aired as a stunt in between Maxwell's cancellation and the debut of Alan Cox. That show was so awful that I haven't listened to the station ever since. IMO, WMMS should have simply replaced Maxwell with Alan right from the get-go, experienced the growing pains, and it wouldn't have been that bad a start. But "Aftermath" simply blew out the previous show's audience.

That being said, it was "dumb" (ha) for "Charlie" to reject being Alan's sidekick, but after the "Aftermath," Alan's better off without him.

I'm just surprised no one has brought up Ryan Dalton. Worth a shot.

Ryan Dalton would be good. He should've been paired with Alan, but that move probably would've ticked off Maxwell fans who remember hearing Dalton on his show.

I remember hearing Dumb and Charlie on afternoons and they sucked. If they actually did become afternoon hosts, it would seem like Rover is taking over the entire WMMS line-up. Rover's popular, but too much of him and his crew would ultimately be too much for the station and listeners.

I also remember hearing Alan mention how the station wanted continutity on his show, meaning they wanted either Charlie or Stansbury paired up with him, but it sounded like he didn't like having certain potential co-hosts pushed on him and his show. With Stansbury, Alan mentioned how both know that pairing would not work, and that Alan did not want the guy from the previous show paired up with him. With Charlie, he was not ready to play a bigger role on a show, and seemed more comfortable being one of the sidekicks on Rover's show.

I think Chad compliments Alan better than anyone. If you remember, they tried out Mark Nolan and Dalton before Chad came on. Chad does a great job making that show fun. Sometimes Alan's voice can put you to sleep
