Hot 102.9 PD/Afternoon Driver Reggie Beas exits

Mainline Broadcasting rhythmic WDHT (Hot 102.9)/Dayton PD/afternoon personality/mixer “Big Chicago” Reggie Beas has exited after joining Hot 102.9 in October 2006. He previously worked at Radio One urban AC WILD-FM/Boston as PD/afternoon personality/mixer and handled middays and mixer duties at Radio One Urban WBOT (Hot 97.7)/Boston. He got his start as a mixer with Nash Communications WILD-AM/Boston in 1999.

Beas is currently looking for his next opportunity and can be reached at [email protected], myspace.com/ReggieBeasor 617-697-6733.

What a shocker. So I wonder if "Partyman" has taken over duties now as MD and PD. I knew it was a surprise when I heard two remixes back to back during the Hot 7 @ 7 last night. ;D

Let's see what happens.

Well, it looks like that WDHT PD slot has already been filled...by Scott Sharp, from sister station WGTZ! And with Z93 now stunting one has to wonder if WDHT will tweak their direction under Sharp.

Mainline knows they have a gold mine with WDHT, however there are ways to make a TON more money with that monster signal. Will they keep it Rhythmic, my bet is yes...but with a tad bit more money makin and money shakin tunes thrown in (meaning adult appealing chr)

Does this mean more format changes are in store at Mainline/Dayton?
What I would do...Move the Urban format back to 92.1 and call it U-92 again and dump the Urban AC format...Make HOT an adult-leaning CHR...There are a few CHRs out there that use the HOT branding i'm sure. I guess this would be a better move than trying to repair a damaged brand in Z-93 I guess. ??? I'm sure with Z being blown to smithereens there's more ACME boxes coming soon to the other stations in that building...Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner would be proud. ;D

I bet your right on the money on a few things there.

Urban AC does okay for the stations, but not where they want it. That was pointed out in the research study. Also pointed out was the future of 101.5 Enon and it looks pretty "KOOL" to me.

The boxes will be unloaded from the truck as soon as you start seeing the new billboards and tv commercials for FLY around for a couple months.

Mainline knows what their doing....!
