A blind, deaf, and mute monkey with no limbs or tail can tell you to please stop the insanity.

Someone put on the board there would have to be a "substantial" increase for WYOK to stay in the format. 'KSJ didn't do itself a favor by increasing only two points in the book and now has a big, red target on its back saying, "Come and get me."

Betcha $20 that Labor Day Weekend, you'll find a brand new country station at 104.1.

Good night.

.........and watch in another 12 months as yet another format gets fried on 104.1 . With 102.7, 104.9, 94.5, 98.7 all throwing city grade or fringe signals into Mobile & Baldwin, a 'twanger on 104.1 would just join the crowd.

Actually, 94.9, 98.7, 99.1, and 102.7, but point well made.

For those very reasons, it might be better to just stay the course and challenge WABB on the cheap.

I know I shouldn't put any real stock in 12+ numbers, but it just seems 104.1 AND 100.7 (Pensacola's WJLQ) should be doing better than they are. Neither seem to be making much of a dent in either market.
______________

Mobizy,

So are you saying that KSJ shouldn't try to win?

NOT AT ALL..KSJ sounds great, and congrats... I'm just saying it now probably made it easier for Cumulus to decide to attack the big dogs, which would be you at KSJ!! KSJ is just sticking out like a sore thumb at this point (in a good way)!

YEEE HAW:)

And even a "Jack" can tell you that a Gospel format on that signal could be top-three 12+ within a year. Country at best could pull a few shares from 'KSJ, but would not sell well in combo with the other Cumulus Mobile properties. Hello, McFly...

What about Smooth Jazz? That seems like something that would work in Mobile, and unlike gospel, sports, or country, isn't already being done.

I think non-com WHIL 91.3 has a pretty strong jazz following.
Back when 104.1 was all 80's they played jazz on Sundays. I never understood why.

Star 104 was the winner of the Catt Sirten sweepstakes-I believe they bagged his "Sunday Jazz Bruch" show from Lite Mix 99.9.
______________
