Hot 106.5 coming 8/31

No word yet on the fate of the “X” format or 99.5 translator.

It was a frequency swap and is now completed,
X now on 99.5, and Hot is on 106.5 in JAX.

I live near the Charlotte area in Upstate SC, and I always thought the Jacksonville X106.5 (now 99.5) Alternative station sounded amazing, reminding me of the nearby here, and very similar WEND 106.5 The End, and even the other Rock station around here, and the other Rock Station very similar and ironically also called "The Planet," 93.3 WTPT.

X is also on 104.5 HD2. 99.5 is a translator.

The irony is that X has a better signal on the HD2 than it did on 106.5 (class A).
These translators rarely promote their HD signal which is stupid. Promote it almost as much as streaming. The more listeners you get to the HD originating signal, the more range which increases potential P-1’s.

I used to Listen to X on 106.5 driving down Interstate 95 or A1A and would lose the 106.5 signal when entering Saint Augustine. The new signal (non-HD) channel is not much different but the HD signal goes much further, but in most of Duval County it wouldn't really matter...The towers for most of the Jax Stations, including 104.5 and 106.5 and 99.5, are UP and very TALL above my old neighborhood, off Beach Blvd and Southside, so its a very strong signal out from there at least 15 miles in all directions, including downtown JAX and Beaches.
