Hot 106 sucks? Kinda.

I've tuned into Hot 106 lately, and notice its a lot like Jamn 94.5 up the road. You know, Bieber, Minaj and not really any actual hip hop. How come the "Hot" here isn't a lot like 93.7 in Hartford? Are the demographics or advertisers not there?

Last I checked the demographics in Hartford were mighty different from Providence. Hot106 does pretty well in the ratings for Providence, too...especially considering it doesn't reach Providence all THAT well (cars, yes...indoors, no) and doesn't get very far south of it, either.

How has 93.7 gone downhill? Last I checked, they're a pretty big biller and strong with young demographics.

Was in Hartford for a few days for a wedding back in September, got to sample Hot 93.7 a lot. Heard a lot of new urban R&B and Hip Hop I wouldn't have a CHANCE hearing on Jam'n or perhaps Hot 106. It certainly hasn't gone downhill in my ears. Still better than a lot out there.

It should be noted that Hot 106 PD Davey Morris is now a corporate PD for Cumulus... because we apparently live in a bizarro world.

I guess it's all a matter of choice. All I know is that along with myself several people I know who used to like listening to Hot 93.7 no longer do so. Maybe I'm just too old now that I'm 30. I've been listening to that type of music for around 15 years when I was a Freshmen in High School. Back then urban radio in Hartford was on AM - JAMZ 910.
When was JAMZ 910 on?

Last time I listened to Hot 106 they had a new imaging guy who I had never heard before. They sounded way better with Rick Party! And Hot 93.7 hasn't gone downhill, Hip-Hop and R&B has.
