HOT 107.5/102.7 SIMULCAST IDEAL?

HOT HIP HOP DETROIT would be able to cover the northern suburbs better by simulcasting on 102.7 WPZR FM in Mount Clemens, MI.

HOT HIP HOP DETROIT can now cover the southern and western suburbs now very good now on the 107.5 WGPR FM frequency, and they would also be able to cover the northern suburbs up to Port Huron by simulcasting HOT 107.5 programming on 102.7 WPZR FM in Mount Clemens.
 
102.7 has a big signal but it gets impeded by 4W Country 102.9 out of Ann Arbor to the west (does WWWW run HD? don't remember if it did or not) while 107.5 is more clear... Urban Gospel or Urban Oldies is clearly better on a signal like 102.7 :)
 
Nope, W4 in Ann Arbor is not and never has been in HD. WUOM and WEMU are the only two Washtenaw County signals in HD.

Besides, I much prefer gospel music to hip-hop. Numan, I know you think every Detroit station should be hip-hop or CHR, but there are those of us who prefer REAL music.
 
Simulcasting 102.7 with 107.5 doesn't really do anything useful. The two signals overlap over anywhere that there's significant African-American population. Within the Detroit metro, 102.7 is only better than 107.5 up in northern Macomb County, and not by much.

Even if it's a troublesome signal in western Wayne County, 102.7 is still more valuable as a separate secondary signal for R1 than as a useless simulcast of 107.5.
 
KISS was on 102.7 years ago and it moved to 105.9 for better coverage. It payed of now there ratings are higher than WMXD which is now a victim of that Clear Channel VT crap.

BAHAHAHA @ a simulcast idea. WDTJ-turned-WHTD-turned-WGPR does NOT need a STINKIN simulcast, let alone all those callsign and frequency changes and urban format swaps per frequency (105.9 to 102.7 to 107.5). Detroit may have lost a heritage R&B Soul station that sounded nothing like the Mix or the Kiss but why not let some radio listeners get their Praise on with the FM dial on for one. I'm certain FM-centric listeners who enjoy gospel music are happy to have WPZR don't venture to AM to listen to WCHB, WEXL or WDRJ at all.
