Hot 107.9

Hot 107.9 is now broadcasting in HD. Don't know how long they have, but they're promoting it along with there website like crazy. They've even changed the positioner.

So is V-103. And, V-103 started digital broadcasting long before Hot did and V is broadcasting HD2 and WAOK on HD3. Sounds like Hot may want to change that slogan. However, Hot does sound really good in HD.

I can get all of them (Depending on which window I use) on a Sangean HD tuner. Can't get all at iobne location though. This from the 12th floor.

And you can actually even receive the HD signal from V103!
I can't hear the HD signals from any Radio One station in downtown.

I can get the HD signal from Hot 107.9 sporadically here in Marietta. Same is true with 102.5. I can not get any HD signal from 97.5 at all. WJZZ 107.5 has a reliable HD signal but that may be because I am close to the transmitter.

V-103 and Dave seem to have very reliable HD signals. CBS may be using a different excitor (or some other method) with HD than Radio One. I will say that Hot 107.9's audio sound much better in HD (same with all Radio One stations) than V-103. So, they must be using a different method of procession audio as well.

V103's HD-2 channel has fantastic audio.....it sounds really good! V103 has excellent audio too....very clean with tasteful processing.
I agree that the Radio One properties sound good....Vic Jester has a great ear for audio. He always made 99X and Power99 sound excellent. Johnny Bridges and Vic run a well engineered plant.

Lately it seems like V-103's HD-2 and HD-3 audio are lower than the main channel. There have been several times when I've found nothing but "dead air" on the HD-2. Hot 107.9 does sound really good in HD.

Speaking of dead air, 92.9-2 is there but with no audio.

And this, my friends, is what's wrong with HD radio at this point:

This thread upholds evidence that you are very likely the 6 people in metro Atlanta who actually give a flying rat's crevice about HD.

That's not even the real problem. The true issue is that there's no consistency or stability. Some people can pick up some stations while others can't. That makes me worried that if I get the wrong HD Radio I can't hear the station I bought the HD Radio for!
