It almost seems that Forever intends to give up on young listeners. They put 'Hot' on the 92.1 signal, that reaches less distance (although may sound better in most locations). They also cut power to 'Hot 100' to move Lite 99.5. Don't forget they closed the book on 'Hot 103' all together! So now they have the format backed into a corner on the lowest power stations, with minimal jocks. Also, the 'Rocky' stations appear to be reaching more toward the 45+ age group, with mostly a 70s focus. Do they plan to sell off before today's youth matter in the world of sales? If so, will any potential buyer look and see that they have conceded young listeners to alternative sources of listening? Have they admitted like gadgets like mp3 players, satellite radio, and the Internet are superrior to their brand of cookiecutter FM radio? Is there more simulcasting on the way? Tune in next week to see what happens to our heros.
