Why is Hot 93.7 playing Journey, Foreigner, Queen, Madonna during the 9am old school block today? Then someone won tickets to Journey and Foreigner concert. Just seems weird for a hip hop station to be playing these songs.
Bizarre! How many urban/hip-hop fans are into dinosaur rock? What next? A block of Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts and Kenny Chesney, with tickets to see Keith Urban as a prize?
If you listen to Hot 93.7 regularly, you'll see that they have a "guilty pleasures" segment on Wednesday mornings. They essentially dump the format for either 30 mins. or an hour and will play just about anything that is requested. I think it's really refreshing in today's corporate cookie-cutter world. In general I think their morning show is one of the best in the market.
@Ken: It could be worse... Hot 93.7 could have asked listeners to sing Journey and Foreigner songs to win the tickets, like some station in Texas is doing in anticipation of those two bands (plus Night Ranger) performing there next month... Now THAT'S PPM gold!
