HOT 93.7 running promos for Huskies

I heard a promo on HOT 93.7 for the UCONN Huskies mentioning that you can listen to the Huskies as they go for the Final Four tonight at 8:10 on our sister station News Talk 1080 WTIC. I think it's good that they did this cross-promotion, but they did not mention that News Talk 1080 is an AM station. Not everyone who listens to radio understands how it works. Like back in 2004 when I had my own show on WXCT 990, I'd tell people my show was on WXCT 990 and they'd be like "WXCT is 99.0 FM?" and I'd have to explain to them that no it's on 990 AM. I tried to explain to them that stations with a decimal point in the frequency are FM stations and stations that have no decimal point in the frequency and end in Zero are AM stations.

Let me guess that the conversation you had was with someone who used the word "like" a lot (like every third word) and "you know" and was a dumb as a bag of bricks??

Would it be smart for WTIC 1080 to air the Huskies game on one of their FM's tommorrow night? It would fit more on 96.5 TIC then Lite 100.5 or Hot 93.7

It was the fans of the dreaded Red Sox who got screwed last night. WTIC-FM HD2 was airing the Connecticut Whale hockey game, while WTIC-FM HD3 was running the simulcast of 98.5 The Sports Hub from Boston. I monitored their game via WEEI-FM 103.7 of Westerly/Providence, which gives me a weak stereo signal at best here in New Britain. That's fine, since their audio was a good 15 seconds ahead of WTIC-AM 1080 on Friday.

Thats fine its just the start of the season for the Red Sox. And yea the first three games of the season weren't so great for them.

This is a completely redundant post. It's as if you thought people would be tuning into WEBE to hear the UCONN game. This post was nothing more than another veiled attempt to retain post-mortem relevance of a dead radio station.

My post was not that I don't like WZMX (hate rap) but to the fact that most people with an IQ above room temperature know the difference between AM and FM.
