Hot 95.7 now officially here

Mediafrog - I 2nd your sentiment. Looks like they're going after the younger end of KRBE's audience and going completely after KPTY's audience. Sounds like a 12-24 station.

I've always said 'if you put KISS dallas in houston... it would rock!!!'.... big props to CBS!!!!!

Don't really find it that appealing soo far. They played soo far quite a bit of r&b and stuff krbe plays. ???

that's why http://www.thebeat713.com was created a year ago without any playlists. to get away from mainstream radio stations in houston. mixshows are done at night since all of us have day jobs. we've been playing dance music and other variety of music on that internet station for a while now.

Yup, as expected (and as I predicted last night) its a Rhythmic leaning CHR/Pop station, not a CHR/Rhythmic not a Rhythmic AC.
They play pure Pop records like Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers, Pop/Rock by the likes of One Republic, Hot AC records that perfrom extremely well on CHR like Sara Bareilles and Taylor Swift, and of course all the big croissover Hip Hop and Rhytmic records.
This is what the majority of major market CHR/Pop stations sound like in this country.

The website is: http://hothitshouston.com/

too bad Jack isnt on 95.7. 103.7 is a joke of a signal in Houston proper. The r&b krap over saturates this market. It would be nicer if it was on 103.7 ;D

Booooorriiiing??? Are you in the demo? Better yet..are you a female IN the demo? If not, then of course its boring to you.

Great another station churning out the same crap you hear on KRBE or the MIX. Way to go!
Hell, I'm already tired of Rihanna's "Don't stop the Music".

haha, I love dance, but yeah come on that song was already overplayed lol.

Just the countdown itself and the song itself being played twice in the first hour got me so tired. Just finished doing some work and checked back and guess what was on? It was Rihanna!!!! Give the song a break already. KHJZ is giving me a bad first impression. This is worse than a Top 40 station playing the same set of songs over and over.

Also, at 4 PM, KHJZ played their intro again. Are they doing this by the hour? Because I was listening to their HD stream and at 3, it sounded like they messed up by playing the song earlier than it was supposed to. They tried to play it off by loweing down the volume, but that screwed all of it up. Anyone else caught that?

So I wonder if they will try to be like HotZ95 in Corpus? That may kill KRBE if they do that. I havnt listened to KRBE in a long time. I'm out of the area now, I'll try to make a aircheck of Hot957 if I can get a chance over the weekend. See if I can fire up my old tape recorder.

I love Dance Music but I knew it was a stunt. After one good dance song, the next song went "ghetto" .. haha

you think that is bad I heard sean kingston- take me there 3 times in a 45 min. span

Yep come on KHJZ get it right. I believe as time goes on thet'll get the hang of it. You cant expect em to get it right the first time. After more surveying of the music they'll get it all right and hopefully they'll kill KRBE. Maybe we can get JACK To switch frequencies with KRBE,so JACK can be on a Mo City Stick. ;D

I agree with you.

LOL. Don't listen to the haters.

This station sounds GREAT! Major props to Bryon Kennedy, Laura Morris and Jeff Garrison on Radio 101... Playing HITS for the MARKET!

"Real, true Mainstream stations" are a thing of the past and are for stations that know nothing about their market. HOT HITS 95.7 sounds like the market, as every Top 40 station should.

I've been listening since the launch and it's dead on. We've been doing the "#1 Most Requested Song of the Hour" since RadioNOW signed on in 2000 and it's a great tool. Too bad not more stations give their listeners that kind of control... (since our job as radio stations is to SERVICE the LISTENER!)

Great job again! The Radio WAR is on, good luck!
