Hot 95.7: Two Years Later

Time sure does go by fast. I haven't been listening a lot lately due to work, but every time i tune in, they are still always on the spot with all the current hits, from the mainstream to hip-hop. Hopefully, their new morning show will be more successful than the last one. Now i wonder what their 7p-midnight numbers look like now that KRBE has taken the syndication route with Billy Bush (not the perfect time of the day to do that).

Thoughts??

Since I live here in LA, I usually stream Hot 95-7 from my iPod touch or my PC. I have to say, they sound really awesome! They got great programming features, and an awesome mixshow. Kudos to Hot's PD, they really know what they're doing. I wish our AMP Radio here was like Hot.
I've never really got to listen to KRBE so I can't tell what I think of them, though I'm not a fan of Adult CHR's.

Mark Adams is one smart dude. I LOVE it when someone who gets it does well. No disprespect to KRBE, of course.

A good question is, how long will they last?

Yeah, usually after some new stations hit the two year mark, some do fall off and not make it to year three. Hopefully, Hot won't end up in that category.

Are you guys serious? Hot is outperforming the heritage CHR and has nearly matched their cume after only being on the air for less than 2 years. KRBE hasn't seen the top 5 in the market since 95.7 flipped from Jazz to Top 40. I think it's pretty safe to say that CBS has other more pressing issues in front of them, without tinkering with something that seems to be working quite well.

Not to mention their HD2 station is a breath of fresh air in this area!!

Used to have to wait until sat night to hear dj mark d spins some jams but now 95.7 hd2 has it going on 24/7 Great Job!!

Give CBS credit for giving the format time to grow. KRBE still wins in mornings, but after that it's a real battle, with Hot winning most of the time. Taking down Roula & Ryan will not be easy nor happen quickly. Let's hope R&R are being paid huge money.

Purpledevil, please check the Radio-Info or All Access sites as your mistaken on the top 5 ranking. KRBE usually ranks #2 or#3 in total (6+) cume. April, they were beaten only by 12,000 by KKHH. But in February and March KRBE was ahead by the 80,000 to 100,000 range. This doesn't diminish Hot's performance. Especially since they lead KRBE in share.

How long will they last? As long as CBS can sell their spots for good rates.

And you're right, CBS has other more pressing issues in Houston. They're spelled KILT.
