Expect the station formerly known as The Wave to change its calls by the end of next week. My Prediction: It's either KHQT or KHHS.

See you on the other side.

Already a KHQT in Las Cruces, NM.

They might go after the KHHS calls, which are being used by a LPFM in San Diego, who might have to give them up if it happens.

The calls mean litttle now days why waste the cash in such a cash strapped industry?

It's a great playlist. I like the "gold" at the end of the hour as the "drop song". I noticed at midnight this morning, there were suddenly more recurrents and golds. woohoo! It's still current heavy, which is great!

Was able to listen to it in College Station a bit yesterday. It sounds a lot like KNDE. On my way to Houston later today, so I'm gonna check it out further.

In my humble opinion the station is sounding pretty good. Programming wise that is.

Now let's take a look at what Jan Jaffries 104, I mean KRBE, played at the same time on the same day (Friday):
3:03 Nickleback "Savin Me"
3:07 Alicia Keys "No One"
3:10 Justin Timberlake "Cry Me A River"
3:15 Rihanna "Please Don't Stop The Music"
3:19 Rob Thomas "Little Wonders" (nice song, but not a CHR hit. All the Cumulus CHRs were forced to play it)
3:22 Taylor Swift "Teardrops On My Guitar"
3:25 Coldplay "Clocks" great song, but they played this after Taylor Swift and Rob Thomas? ??? That's great for a Hot AC station, but a CHR? In a major market?? :p
3:36 TLC "No Scrubs"
3:39 Buckcherry "Sorry"
3:43 Miley Cyrus "See You Again"
3:55 Timbaland "The Way I Are"
3:59 Natasha Bedingfield "Love Like This"

what an excellent question. i was thinking the same myself. calls mean more to radio nerds like us than actual listeners. they can care less.

How true, how true. I've given a really hard listen to KHJZ since its sign-on, and I've got to say KPTY and KRBE are both in big trouble. KPTY might be falling off of the map in short order with the limited Port Arthur signal.

No offense but the new format on 95.7 sounds like KRBE, which is very ghetto these days.
