Hot 96 & 103-7...

Been listening to Hot 96 & 103-7 this morning in Virginia Beach trying to capture their legal ID. They didn't have one in the 8 a.m. Finally heard it around 9:56 a.m.

I also didn't hear a single Hip-Hop/R&B track during the morning show (8:15-10)... Is this "normal" for them?

Their airplay report for the last week in May is much heavier on the rock side than most CHR/pop stations. Papa Roach is #6 in plays. WRHT and WERO have sort of reversed positions from a few years ago. WRHT has more of an adult sound while WERO is total bubblegum pop. Even the rythmic stuff that Hot plays seems to me to be more like club music rather than R&B.

Having done mornings, I could see how certain types of music get jettisoned in favor of others according to the tastes of the host. They play, what, 6, maybe 7 songs an hour during the morning show?
