Hot 97.5 didn't see this coming....

Re: Hot 97.5 didn't see this coming....

IMO, I don't think what the station did was very mature. All they did was get people angry and helping to tarnish their image as a reputable station. There are plenty of "safe" April Fool's jokes to play.

Agreed, but is parents paying a monthly $100 fee for their kid to attend CCSD far fetched? Perhaps if that idea was posed in a different forum such as their weekend Public Affairs programming it wouldn't have come off as such an immature an insensitive joke.

Oh, come on. Let's not take ourselves too seriously. They played a joke, and some dumb clucks fell for it. No one is actually out any money. If it made the day a little tougher for staff at the district office maybe KVEG could send some pizzas over there on Friday to make it up to them.

That's actually a funny stunt! Sounds like it got a lot of people buzzing and ticked off!

Fake news stories can get you in trouble, but the buzz about the station may be worth the fine. There's no such thing as bad publicity right?

Well said!

Re: Hot 97.5 didn't see this coming....

The best part in all this is the day 102.7 Now hits the air, Hot 97.5 is the station making the news. PERFECT timing and well executed; even if they did get a bit lucky. Poor Beasley... as usual they're late to the party and underdressed. Hot's got personality and KLUC has history. Good luck.
