Hot 97-5 has the same voice imaging as 97-5 WABB

What are they trying to do? Copycat WABB in Mobile, AL?

Why would they even need to do that? I'm sure this voice imaging isn't exclusive to just Mobile and now Phoenix. Does WABB even stream on the web for anyone to actually hear its imaging?

Musically, it also sounds like a station that is better suited for Alabama.

On the surface, given the current competitive landscape, it makes sense why Hot 97.5 sounds the way it does. But it may not be different enough for the average listener to justify dealing with the signal limitations.

I remember when KZZP (in the "104-7 ZZP" days, pre-Kiss) had a program director from WZYP in Huntsville, AL. The station was straight ahead Mainstream CHR, but that approach may have been too "vanilla" for this market.

They're not going to care what a station in Alabama does. Just because they have the same V/O doesn't mean they're copying each other.

So what, are you going to complain about 104.7 KISS FM and KIIS in LA because they have the same female V/O? Or 92.3 NOW NY and 101.5 JAMZ because they both have the same male V/O?

KZZP's best days, musically, were in the mid to late 80s when the station was programmed by none other than Guy Zapoleon.

It somewhat amazes me that that top 40 style sound would be too "vanilla" for this market, yet it would be / would've been thriving big time in Atlanta.

The numbers generated by Kiss (which has been consistently rhythmic-leaning since its launch in April 2001) have been considerably higher than what I recall 104-7 ZZP getting. Of course, music may not have been the only factor.
