HOT 97 and WBLS Relocating

Hip-hop will no longer live in Hudson Square but instead reside in the Flatiron District.

MediaCo Holding, parent company of radio stations HOT 97 and WBLS, signed a 16 year lease for 25,000 square feet on the second and third floors of Savanna s 48 West 25th Street, the New York Post first reported.

The move this week was not to that location, but rather to a temporary facility a block away from where they will be moving. The temporary facility has been Hot 97's former auxiliary studio where guest interviews were done after their now former location banned guests in the building after 5pm following the rash of shootings that happened years ago.

Does that leave anyone besides Audacy and WNYC left in the Hudson Square / Tribeca district? How long before they all end up moving over the river to Brooklyn to join all the music venues that have been priced out of Manhattan?

Yes, iHeart local NYC stations are at 32 6th Avenue (Avenue of the Americas - the "AT+T Building") across from Tribeca Park
while the newer corporate headquarters are at 125 W. 55th St. (between 6th + 7th Avenue).

Isn't IHM in Manhattan?

Yes. I guess the way I wrote it earlier was confusing. A lot of live music venues have migrated to Brooklyn after being priced out of Manhattan. I was just joking that maybe radio companies are next. There's nothing to indicate anything like that is actually imminent, though.

The iHeart stations moved out of Tribeca. They're all up in Midtown at the 55th St. building now.

Thanks for the correction - first announced in August 2022:

and first shows were in January 2023:
The whole cluster moved between early-mid December through the beginning of February.
