Hot A/C stations

Specifically PLJ & Fresh but also applies to suburbans as well.

They all sound very close musically to being CHRs, wouldn't it make sense for one of these stations, PLJ IMO to position itself somewhere between Z100 and Lite?
What I mean is upbeat pop & rock from the 90's and 2000s with a few currents thrown in done in a different style and presentation then the Lite. Right now 90s music is sparse on the FM dial. Lite has been losing some ground because I feel they try too hard to please everyone musically. I've never understood Lites success with Delila at night and completely changing format for a month after Thanksgiving but kudos to them. CBS FM has the 70s & 80s pretty well covered.

Anyone else feel PLJ should move in this direction?

I think it's safe to say the Hot A/C's of today are the CHR's of 5-10 years ago. A/C's today are the Hot A/C's of 5-10 years ago.
