Hot AC 101.7 Kiss FM / Chico Flips

Looks like 101.7 Kiss FM flipped back to Sports. The Top 40 battle in Chico is getting rather interesting. Now 107.5 is not getting the ratings... while Power 102 is getting them. Now 107.5 sounds a lot better than Power 102 in my opinion. Is it just me, or does Power 102 sound a little cheesy? Too many mishaps feeding in the commercial breaks.

I despise Fox Sports Radio so 101.7 will remain off my radar. I used to listen to ESPN radio 2-3 hours a day pre-flip. I suppose the best news is that we once again get Giant games in crystal clear FM instead of scratchy 1340AM (or equally scratchy KNBR).

This was never hot AC. This was pure CHR.

Help me out here, that didn't last long, did it?

I'm really not surprised.

IMHO, I don't think Chico has enough market share for 3 CHR (or like CHR) stations. Haven't we seen this battle before with Colors 92.7 (KLRS) and Club 96.7 (KZAP)?

wonder if they'll pick up ESPN Radio again soon
No, they will not pick up ESPN. At least not for the next 12 months. Radio tends to change so rapidly so I hate to make definitive statements however Fox Sports Radio offered them an excellent rate. Money talks therefore 1340 and 101.7 will be Fox Sports Radio.

Isn't Fox Sports 100% barter? At least they were a couple of years ago when I consulted the launch of a new AM with FSR, including Dan Patrick and Jim Rome.

Doesn't sound that way anymore but I reserve the right to be wrong. :)
