HOT BEATS KRBE!!!

A friend in the CBS building got this info, she forwarded me this...pretty interesting that the "kid" station is not JUST for the teens anymore:

THE FOLLOWING IS NOT MY WRITE-UP, IT IS SIMPLY A CUT/PASTE:

Cume P6+ climbs month to month: Oct - 867,800, Nov - 1,012,500, Dec - 1,114,200. Up +10.0% from Nov and +28% from Oct.

A18-34: All share and ratings are up. Up from 3.0 to 4.0 share full week and .3 to .4 rtg, and .6 rtg in Mid day and PM drive. Ranked 6th General Market AQH persons and Share and tied with KRBE AQH rtg with .4 full week.

KKHH beats KRBE's AQH Share AM, Mid and Wknd dayparts. KPTY continues to trend down from 3.4-3.2-2.9 share (full week) in the last 3 months.

W18-34: HOT BEATS KRBE! All share and ratings are up. Up from 3.7 to 5.6 share and .4 to .5 rtg full week. KRBE is down form 4.6 share to 4.4 and from .5 to .4 rtg full week. KKHH beats KRBE in majority of dayparts. HOT is TOP 5 W18-34.

W18-49: All share and ratings are up. HOT ties KRBE with .4 rating full week and squeaks by with 4.4 share compared to KRBE's 4.3 share full week. HOT dominates AQH Share in AM, MID and Wknd dayparts. HOT ranks 5th full week General Market.

T12-17: All share and ratings are up. Ranked 2nd in the market full week, and #1 F12-17.

Congrats to Hot! I feel KRBE isn't down for the count though. They been around long enough to know just what it takes to bounce back. Now who I think is in serious trouble is KPTY. They have made so many changes in the past year it's not a surprise that there numbers are way down.

Wanna bet. KRBE is now owned by Cumulus and they cave easy to competition.

RadioGM is correct.

KRBE has always come back but with the current owners questions arise.

Hot is a good Top 40 w/ Hip Hop lean. Hot has some of the best formatics in the market. Other stations need to learn some formatics by listening to Hot. Hot has great jocks heavy audience involvment and fresh music repeated every 70 minutes. This is just what the demo wants! Audience involvment is the one item many station do not offer. KRBE is not one of those they are out on the streets too.

My advice too KRBE DO NOT reinvent yourself just drive home your message. Keep driving home your music. Get out on the streets like never before. Prepare for another assult from CBS with 96.5 changing hands. Position yourself now. Besure to freshen up on the formatics brush your teeth and floss! Most of all enjoy the ride even if your being driven to the dance in a car with a Hot 95.7 logo on it.

And the problem is that Jan Jeffries is driving the car!

You guys are so right. I completly forgot about the fact that cumulus owns them now.
They have no clue aboutmajor market radio. they screwed up Power 97.5 back in the day and to this day have no clue of what to do with that singal now. its been hip hop/r&b/rock/news/and now espn. which i hear isnt doing so well but only has been around a few yrs!

KRBE is in trouble

I guess the years of abuse have fried Jan's Brain. He couldn't take a station to number 1 in a one station town. But back in the day, of course we are not in that day any longer.
